After your pick up, you will be driven straight to the V&A Waterfront, in time for the 9:00 AM ferry departure for Robben Island.
The ferry trip lasts about 45 minutes: at your arrival you’ll first have a bus tour of the island before being given the opportunity to visit the prison and the cell where Nelson Mandela was kept for 18 of his 27 prison years.
Learn about the dramatic history of South Africa through the voice of a former prisoner. After the tour you will get a return boat to Cape Town and you will be dropped off at the V&A Waterfront. Here, you will be free to return to your accommodation independently or continue touring the beautiful city.
After the visit to Robben Island, the local partner will meet you again at 2:00 PM and start the Townships tour: visit District 6, Langa and Gugulethu. Learn about life in the township and get the opportunity to support local businesses.
The tour will end at your hotel or accommodation between 4.30 PM-5:00 PM.
