Constantia Full Day Wine Tour from Cape Town

Begin your day with a pickup from your bespoke guide at your place of accommodation in and around Cape Town. The Constantia Valley region is home to 8 award-winning estates neatly tucked behind Table Mountain.

Traveling by Land Rover, you will be taken on a sight tour through a vineyard which is also home to the steepest gradient vineyards in South Africa. When you reach the top expect panoramic views of the farm, followed by Constantia and the greater Cape Town beyond reached all the way to the ocean. When you arrive back to the tasting room, you will indulge in 5 wine tastings that will include a Viognier, Merlot, and award winning Shiraz.

After a morning filled with breath-taking views and a stunning array of wines, you move on the neighboring boutique vineyard, Constantia Glen. This will be your lunch stop which is included with wine tasting. In a region where Sauvignon Blanc and white wines reign supreme, this boutique vineyard is more planted to red grape variety. Enjoy lunch from an a la carte menu, 7 wines to taste from and views for days.

It would then be a pleasure to welcome you on a guided site tour of the Groot Constantia Estate, South Africa’s oldest wine producing vineyard dating back to 1685. Here you will delve into the magnificent history of the estate, visiting the Manor House and Cloete Cellar, ending the visit with a Wine & Chocolate pairing with 5 of their award-winning wines. Groot Constantia was rated the top South African wine producer for 2016. Groot Constantia’s winemaker, Boela Gerber was also awarded winemaker for the same year.

Return back to Cape Town at the end of the tour.
